In this role, you will lead efforts to engage and grow our partnerships across UK Primary and Secondary schools through a range of innovative marketing activities.

Our unique, youth-led PSHE learning materials empower educators and develop agency among young people to thrive in a rapidly changing world. 

We aim to deliver impact at scale; through our curriculum, video content, topical lessons and behaviour intervention materials, young people develop critical thinking, improved communication skills and empathy for others.

About the Role:

  • £38,000 per annum pro rata for 4 days a week
  • 4 days a week 
  • Permanent 
  • Remotely based with some travel including monthly team meetings in our London office

Responsibilities:

As our Head of Marketing and Communications your contributions will drive growth. 

You will shape and clearly communicate our brand identity, ensuring the value that we bring to young people, schools and parents is clear to all. 

You will develop and evaluate ongoing marketing strategies that resonate with our target audience of school leaders across all relevant channels including digital, print and events.

You will coordinate and work collaboratively with others to deliver campaigns and projects, the Life Lessons team and talented external freelancers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Strategy:
    • Define how we can best add value to the important conversations being had in education. For example with school leaders, national and regional government, school associations, not-for-profits, parents.
    • Create and implement innovative marketing strategies for different segments of school leaders, understanding the unique needs and challenges of each group.
  • Email Marketing:
    • Ensure best practice use of CRM 
    • Craft compelling email campaigns to nurture leads, engage customers, and drive conversions. Create content to ensure our newsletters are engaging. 
  • Event Management:
    • Identify and secure opportunities for the sales team to present at conferences, headteacher and teacher network events. Manage the set up,  logistics and hosting of the Life Lessons events/webinars. 
  • Copywriting & design:
    • Ensure our sales collateral is simple and effective meeting brand guidelines. Including presentations, fliers, pull up banners.
    • Produce engaging social media posts and email templates. 
    • Work with external designers where necessary. 
  • Digital Marketing:
    • Implement effective digital marketing strategies, including paid search, SEO and social media advertising. 
  • Relationship building
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers across the education sector who can collaborate, syndicate and champion our work to their networks.
  • Brand development & awareness:
    • Lead a project to reposition the Life Lessons’ brand identity, including key messaging that reflects the breadth and impact of our work.
    • Develop and execute strategies to increase brand visibility and recognition within the education sector. 
  • Evaluation: 
    • Use data and CRM best practice to quantify and provide transparency over what works, for example what generates quality leads.  

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in marketing, preferably in the education or technology sector
  • Evidence of achieving targets and outcomes through marketing activities and communications
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in person, on the phone, on video calls etc.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Canva)
  • Passion for education and a keen interest in the latest trends in the industry

Qualifications and Skills:

  • You will have minimum of 3 years marketing experience
  • You will have an interest in the education sector 
  • You will have an interest in the challenges facing teachers and leaders in the sector 
  • It would be desirable, but not essential, if you had experience with CRM systems
