PSHE and RSE are unlike most other subjects. There’s rarely a textbook, lessons are built on discussion and reflection, and the curriculum evolves quickly as new issues and language emerge. Without formal assessment, it can be difficult for senior leaders to know what “good” looks like, or how best to support their PSHE lead.
