SUMMARY:PSHE Network Meeting South West - Keeping Students Engaged & Managing Difficult Questions in PSHE
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, April 22\, 4 – 4:30 PM \nJoin us for our first PSHE Network Meeting in the South West! We want this to be a collaborative space for PSHE leads and teachers to connect\, share\, and learn from one another. \nThis session is for Primary and Secondary and will be hosted by Life Lessons alongside two of our brilliant partner schools\, Court Fields School and Lift Winton School. Whether you’re navigating a class that’s gone unusually quiet or handling an unexpected question that stopped you in your tracks\, this is a space to share honestly and pick up practical ideas from colleagues who’ve been there too. \nWhat to expect: \nWe’ll hear directly from two partner schools sharing their real experiences of keeping students genuinely engaged in PSHE lessons and responding to difficult or sensitive questions with confidence. Their reflections will set the scene for a guided discussion\, with some questions to spark conversation\, and we’ll be heading into breakout rooms so there’s space for more open\, smaller-group dialogue. \nTopics we’ll explore: \n\nHow do you keep students engaged in PSHE\, especially with topics that feel sensitive or abstract?\nHow do you handle difficult questions in the moment\, and what’s worked (or hasn’t)?\n\nThis is a 30-minute session – short\, focused\, and designed to feel genuinely useful rather than another meeting in your diary. \nWe’d love to see you there. \nFill in the form to receive an invitation.

SUMMARY:Rethinking Careers Education & Aspirations — with Life Lessons and The Student Room
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday 13th of January\nTime: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM\nLocation: Online\n\nMany young people are uncertain about their future paths\, and school staff often feel the pressure of supporting them without enough time\, space or up-to-date insight. At the same time\, young people also show a clear desire for guidance that reflects the real world\, beyond traditional routes and beyond assumptions adults often make. \nThis webinar brings Life Lessons and The Student Room together to explore what young people are actually saying about their futures\, and how adults can better support them. It focuses on widening aspirations\, rethinking careers education and grounding our work in genuine youth voice. \nAcross the hour\, we’ll explore \n\nLife Lessons’ PSHE unit Aspirations & Money – a practical\, ready-to-teach set of lessons that help students think about their future choices\, what matters to them\, their financial lives\, and how to make decisions with confidence. It gives teachers a structured way to open conversations about motivation\, opportunities\, and the realities of adult life.\nThe Student Room’s app\, community and insight – unique\, direct insight\, both quantitative data and qualitative student voice\, on what young people are genuinely discussing and feeling about their future careers and aspirations on the site’s forums.\n\nThe webinar centres on four themes that influence how young people think about their futures: the challenges they face\, the relationships and attitudes around them\, their self-belief and expectations\, and the resilience they’re building as they move through key transitions. \nWe’ll also explore the gap between how adults think the future looks for young people and how young people see it themselves\, and how we can start bridging that. \nThe aim is to give teachers something that saves time while strengthening impact: ready-made resources\, clearer insight and a supportive framework for conversations that often get squeezed out of the timetable. \nAfter the session you’ll receive: \nA free lesson from Life Lessons Aspirations & Money unit \nWho it’s for: \nSLT\, Heads of Careers\, Heads of Sixth Form\, PSHE leads—and anyone who shapes young people’s choices and aspirations. \nFill in the form to register to the webinar.
